At early morning we shall drive to Shadarghat first. We shall spend time here
till 8:00. This terminal and surrounding are one of the most dynamic areas of
Dhaka city. Many passengers arrive here from southern districts by large vessels.
Drive to Kawran Bazar the largest wholesale food stuff market of Dhaka city.
Old Dhaka is always interesting place for Photography; so we drive again to
old Dhaka. We shall start from Gulsthan area then go to Bongshal Road –
the largest bicycle market of Dhaka city, known as Bicycle Street. Also we visit
a rickshaw making workshop and rickshaw paint and art.
Chawk Bazar – the most interesting market of Dhaka city where you can
get almost anything you need. This is the largest wholesale market for street
vendors who come here from every corner of the country.
Then go to Islampur Road – the largest wholesale clothing market of Dhaka
city. Sakhari Bazar – a heritage street which is famous for the culture
and heritage of the Hindu community of Dhaka city, also known as Hindu Street.
Tanti Bazar – the heart of Dhaka city’s jewellery business, full
of jewellery shops and workshops. You’ll find the most skilled jewellery
artisans here.
After lunch go to Dholaikhal used auto parts market. Again go to Shadarghat
ride on boat at river Buriganga. This is the most interesting place in Dhaka
full of activities. You’ll see a river full of hundreds of ferries coming
and going, country boats crossing the river with passengers, cargo boats, and
dock yards where ferries are being repaired. At the late afternoon we will be
at new market for photography.
One day is not enough for Dhaka city photography; actually at list we need more
one day to cover few more interesting places like Gabtoli bus stand, Komlapur
rail station, few Bazaar of old Dhaka etc. If you have time we shall try once
again.
