About Lalon:
Lalon, known as Lalon Shah or Lalon Fakir (C. 1772 – 17 October
1890; Bengali: 1 Kartik, 1179), was a Bengali Baul saint, mystic, songwriter,
social reformer and thinker. In Bengali culture, he is considered as an icon
of religious tolerance whose songs inspired and influenced many poets, social
and religious thinkers. He "rejected all distinctions of caste and creed".
He was both praised and criticized in his lifetime and after his death. Throughout
the life, Lalon sang of a society where all religions and beliefs are in harmony.
His disciples mostly live in Bangladesh and West Bengal. He founded the institute
known as Lalon Akhrah in Cheuriya, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from Kushtia
railway station. He is also regarded as the founder of the Baul music and known
as the Baul Shamrat (The king of Bauls). Lalon died at Chheuriya on 17 October
1890 at the age of 116.
Day-01:
Meet on arrival at Dhaka airport. Transfer to the hotel. Depend on your arrival;
if time permits we shall offer you some city sight seeing activities at this
day.
Day-02:
This day we shall arrange your Dhaka city sight seeing tour including observe
some preparation of celebrating the first day of Bengali calendar.
After breakfast at 08:00hrs accompanied guide will show you the Star Mosque,
Sadarghat River Terminal, Ahsan Manjil, Lalbag Fort, Dhakeshwari Temple in Old
Dhaka. Also we shall arrange a short river cruise by country boat on the Buriganga
near Shadarghat what is really interesting. After lunch visit Central Martyr's
Memorial, Curzon Hall, Supreme Court, National Mosque, National Museum and Parliament
House in new Dhaka.
Famous Dhakaya Biriani will be offered for lunch at a restaurant in old Dhaka;
around 18:30 hrs we shall back to your hotel.
Day-03 (17th October):
At this morning we shall start for Kustia 230 km. andtakes around 5 hours. On
the way we shall stop at SAVAR to visit the National Martyr’s Memorial.
Continue drive 55km and cross the Padma (Bangladesh part of The Ganges) river
by ferry at Aricha.
Drive again till kushtia and check in to the hotel. After lunch go to Lalon’s
“AKHRAH” (shrine) at CEURIYA village. Till evening enjoy the Baul
song, discursions on Lalon’s life, work and his philosophy. Accompanied
guide will help you to interpret all these matters. Also you can exchange the
views with the Lalon followers. You also can enjoy adjacent village fair and
can buy some cheap traditional, simple musical instruments as souvenir.
Day-04:
Morning hours we shall pass to visit the “KUTHI BARI” of Rabindranath
Tagor in Shilaidah. Now it is use as a Rabindra Museum. Also visit the oldest
and longest Steel made Railway Bridge of Bangladesh on the Padma river. Also
we visit the village life of Bangladesh.
After lunch we shall go to Lalon’s “AKHRA” (shrine) at CEWRIA
village and activities are as previous day.
Day-05:
Drive back to Dhaka. If you have flight at this day we shall arrange your airport
transfer as per flight schedule.

Day-06:
Depend on your flight schedule we shall arrange your airport transfer. Also
we can offer you some activities in Dhaka including visit some souvenir shops
if you want.
